10 hotels to check into in 2021

Be it a relaxing retreat or an urban abode, all you need to do is check in.

MERANSEN, SOUTH TYROL

HOTEL MILLA MONTIS

Last year, we went in search of peace and tranquility and checked in at Schgaguler hotel — unsurprisingly, the hotel also made our cut of the best Mountain Retreats in Europe. When word got out that a new all-season hotel designed by the same architect sat just under an hour’s drive from Castelrotto, we jumped at the opportunity to visit. Launched in 2020, the four-star Hotel Milla Montis lies in the heart of the pretty village of Meransen; a ski and hiking paradise surrounded by the beauty of the Dolomites with 25-rooms designed to be at one with nature.

MEXICO CITY, MEXICO

OCTAVIA CASA

Situated in one of Mexico City’s most emblematic areas La Condesa — a hub of gastronomy and culture — Octavia Casa, which launched earlier this year is an exclusive three-story bed-and-breakfast. Featuring 7 rooms, the property serves as a minimalist refuge where architecture and design meet with the area’s local charm. Take-in sublime views from the hotel’s rooftop over a glass of natural wine and spend a few extra hours in the morning wrapped in the billowy linens, which come courtesy of the owner’s label Octavia.
